The 2026 LIV Golf season starts next February under the lights in Riyadh, and in the next few months, we’ll take a detailed look at each player competing next season. Next up is one of LIV Golf’s brightest young stars, David Puig.
LOOKING AHEAD
Puig stands poised for a breakout season in 2026. The Spaniard oozes untapped potential and has shown flashes of brilliance early in his professional career. Despite his strong play, the Fireballs GC standout has yet to truly contend for a LIV Golf title down the stretch on Sunday. His next evolution: contending more consistently and securing his maiden LIV Golf victory.
LOOKING BACK
Puig has gradually improved, landing just within the top 10 of the season rankings and securing a spot inside the Lock Zone for the first time in his two-year LIV Golf tenure. Despite not finishing in top 3 in any event, Puig doubled his top-24 finishes from 2024 to 2025 from six to 12. As one of the league's premier long-ball hitters, the 23-year-old delivered bursts of excellence across the season, notching four top-10 results that solidified his status as one of LIV's most promising young talents.

Puig has also become one of the best long iron players in the league. He ranks 4th in Strokes Gained: Approach from 225+ yards. He also had a fantastic season with the flat stick in 2025 and ranked 5th in the league in Strokes Gained: Putting.
27% of Puig’s rounds in 2025 were under par, which ranked T2 in the league.
Weaknesses: Puig struggled mightily with his short irons. He ranked 47th in the league in Strokes Gained: Approach from inside 150 yards. He ranked 30th overall in Strokes Gained: Approach, which is a figure that will need to improve if he’s to ascend to a top player in the league.
